Happy Saturday!

I’m writing to you on a Saturday not with links to great wine content, but with an offer exclusively for Spill subscribers from our partners at BurgundyWine.com. Because we all deserve beautiful White Burgundy, Spill subscribers are being given a special price on the

2023 Domaine de Cromey Bourgogne Blanc ‘Le Clos’

A LITTLE ABOUT THE VINEYARD
The wine comes from the folks who run BurgundyWine. They bought Domaine de Cromey 12 years ago and proceeded to completely renovate the property. That meant a new drainage system, two years of cover crops to recharge the soils, French government regulations, selection of rootstock, planting, and four years of patience to wait for the first leaf.

The vineyard is called “Le Clos”. This means “walled-in vineyard.” This was the actual name on the historic records for the vineyard. In Burgundy, they only wall in great vineyards, so it goes to reason that the vineyard was once great.

But that was 70 years ago. Until the guys at BurgundyWine bought it, Domaine de Cromey lay untouched for 70 years. No spraying, no plowing, just quiet. It truly is an organic vineyard. Today, the wine produced from the “Le Clos” vineyard is only sold to customers of BurgundyWine.

ABOUT THE WINE ON OFFER
Today’s offer is the 2023 Bourgogne Blanc. The wine has a classic Chardonnay fruit profile, is pure and grassy, slightly saline, with a charming smokiness. It is a fresh, charming example of white Burgundy.

ABOUT THE OFFER
BurgundyWine has partnered with me to offer the wine at a special price only for subscribers to The Spill: $34 per Bottle. There is only a limited amount of the 2023 Bourgogne Blanc remaining (the red is sold out), so grab some of this wine at this special price. The 2024 vintage arrives next month.

Thank you for subscribing to The Spill.

Sincerely,

Tom….
